Finishing the Race

"Hey Sath so what do you think of this idea for the event?" says John Sundara as we ride home on a bus, the other day. "Dude, I need to think," I respond. I haven't blogged anything for a while, but I thought it is appropriate to do so now. My response to John on that day was not only regarding his question, but a plethora of moments and occurrences in these past six months. These eventful few months start off as I return and readjust to living in Canada, subsequent to my mission trip overseas. Since then, my ministry at school increased tremendously, as I joined servant team (a team of student leaders at Campus for Christ), led a discipleship group (a bible-study), led a movement development area, and handled various other miscellaneous tasks and occurrences. Furthermore, I entered into a new, and my first, dating relationship with Jenn. These developments were in conjunction to an unpredictable home life and working a part-time job. Needless to say, the aforementioned were sources of anxiety, doubt, and fear at times; however, I am greatly thankful for friends, family, and a girlfriend who are gracious in spite of my obvious flaws and weaknesses. This past Friday, I had an opportunity to reflect on these past few months as I went hiking with Amac along the Niagara escarpment after the snow storm. I couldn't help but draw similarities between life and our hike as we trekked up a pinnacle. At times the journey has its difficulties, but at there is an immeasurable reward through difficulty. Amac and I arrive at the top of the pinnacle rewarded by a view that extends for miles. "This is a great sniper spot," says Amac.
